Bellator 283 Fighters Jackson, Nurmagomedov and Musayev

Bellator 283 is a mixture of World Class Title Contender fighters, Bellator veterans and upcoming prospects. Fun card to watch on Friday night.

Headliner is Douglas Lima vs Jason Jackson and co main event is Sidney Outlaw vs Tofiq Musayev.

Jason Jackson

Remember in 2016 was the Titan FC Welterweight Champion, One of the best prospects in the world but injured on the Dana White Contender Series but Bellator decided to sign him.

Training hard at Sanford MMA with the welterweight killers Kamaru Usman, Vicente Luque, Gilbert Burns. So many great sparring sessions and learning lessons.

Now one fight away from challenging either Yaroslav Amosov or maybe training partner Logan Storley for the title.

Definitely deserves after Five Fight Winning streak against former UFC fighter Jordan Mein, One of the greats Paul Daley and former UFC Lightweight Champion Bendson Henderson. Laundry list of wins but nothing better than defeating Douglas Lima.

Winning by distance control, Winning takedowns. Won’t be an easy fight but Jackson may prove me wrong and dominate for five rounds.

Obssessively training hard in the gym and recovering at night to be the best Jason Jackson possible against a world class Welterweight.

Tofiq Musayev

Caught my eye being contestant on the Rizin Lightweight 2019 Grand Prix defeating Patricky Pitbull in the Rizin Lightweight Grand Prix final.

Wishing the Azerbaijan fighter signed with either UFC, Bellator or One Championship. Showing his high-level Pankration skills.

Excited Bellator signed Musayev, VERY good signing and now he’ll make his Bellator debut against rising Bellator Lightweight Sidney Outlaw.

Outlaw was conquering regional promotion titles before signing with Bellator. Now moving up the Lightweight division chasing a Lightweight title with standout wins against Myles Jury and Adam Piccolotti.

Tofiq Musayev gets through Outlaw that would be impressive Bellator debut victory if control the pace and use his Pankration fighting style to his advantage. However Outlaw is solid well rounded fight who competes in Jiu-Jitsu competitions.

Back home trains at Orion Fight Club but overseas trains at Sanford MMA. Incredible coaches Greg Jones JR and Kami Barzini drilling the wrestling in practice.

Help of Michael Chandler he can learn to grapple better and control Outlaw on the ground. Defending submissions once or twice.

Usman Nurmagomedov

Part of the next swab of Dagestani Assassins is Usman Nurmagomedov. High high level taekwondo fighter with some beautiful striking displays in his three Bellator fights.

Khabib, Javier Mendez, American Kickboxing Academy fighters speak highly of his kills and Lightweight Champion potential.

Toughest test to date is against Greco Roman wrestler Chris Gonzalez. Usman’s wrestling defense will be closely eyed. Stuffing multiple takedowns can lead to a dominant victory. Gonzalez made great strides in his striking down at “Team Alpha Male” but there’s levels to striking.

I’m looking forward to getting my experience and to show my skill set – to prove to everyone and to show everyone that I belong to be the best one.”

Key to victory is grappling defense and Striking outside to not get caught with a fast takedown. I’m sure Khabib is training his nephew extremely hard to get the defense down pat to win this fight against former US World Team Trials competitor.
