One of my favorite prospects in the world, Former Combate Americas Featherweight Tournament Champion is making a return to MMA as he had a two year lay off.
Long two year lay off can be difficult but he’s one of the best Featherweight prospects in the world, Training at Lutrell’s MMA down in Rico Rancho, New Mexico.
“For this upcoming fight against Edwin Chavez, Training camp has been amazing. Couldn’t ask for better coaches and training partners. We have been working on a lot of new things over the past couple of years. Very excited to show them off.” Andres Quintana
Lutrell’s MMA is a underrated gym with UFC fighters Jordan Espinosa, Steve Garcia, Jerome Rivera as training partners for Andres Quintana.
Chris Luttrell before running his own gym was a key part in JacksonWink MMA Academy as he helped coach GSP, Rashad Evans, Jon Jones.
Now coaching Andres Quintana as he leads him to victory against the Karate style Edwin Chavez at Fury FC 53.
Not only fighting in the Fury FC 53 Main Event but fighting in front of Dana White as he brings his film crew for Dana White Lookin for a Fight, Searching for UFC caliber fighters and Quintana is definitely one of them.
Dream come true for every MMA fighter to sign with UFC but it’s what Quintana expects from himself and many others do as well.
“I wouldn’t say it’s a dream come true but more of what I expect of myself and I’m sure a lot of people expect the same of me. So if I were to get signed I think it’s just the beginning because we got a lot more to show. ” Andres Quintana
Fought on Ultimate Fighter Season 22 losing to Thanh Le but having a great rise fighting for Combate Americas. Defeating tough fighters from Alejandro Flores who fought on the Contender Series, Defeating Rey Trujillo 22-19 fighter with PRO Boxing experience.
Edwin Chavez has a 5-1 record as an amateur was the Sparta Combat League Lightweight Champion but Quintana is the better fighter. Doubling in experience.
“I expect this fight to be tough just like any of my other fights. Seems like a very durable kid. I feel like my experience will ultimately over come anything thrown my way. I’ve been there and done that. Probably seen everything he wants to throw at me. ” Andres Quintana
Pressure is on Andres Quintana to impress the boss Dana White but pressure makes diamonds, Dana White will walk into Quintana’s locker room and offer a UFC contract.
