UFC 265 Fighters to Keep an Eye On

Derick Lewis vs Cyril Gane for the UFC Heavyweight Interim Title. One shot for Derick Lewis is night night for Gane. I can’t wait for this fight and card in general. Plenty fighters to watch who MAY have BRIGHT futures in the UFC.

Rafael Fiziev

#1 choice is the rising Lightweight, Former Muay Thai Champion Rafael Fiziev. Entering this featuring prelim fight on a three fight winning streak and facing a MMA veteran Bobby Green. Fighting since the Strikeforce days and made a big name for himself during COVID.

GREAT TEST for Fiziev to see what he’s truly made of. Fight in the right direction. PERFECT spot for a young hungry fighter to build his name on a Pay Per View card.

“This guy is very tough. He started to fight a long time ago and he has big experience. I respect all this and I respect him. But I don’t think that he has more experience than me because I have big experience in amateur fights, won them all. I’m on a good road.”

Rafael Fiziev 9-1 record vs Bobby Green 27-11-1. Obvious Bobby Green is the experienced fighter but Rafael Fiziev trains at Tiger Muay Thai with Petr Yan, Valentina Shevchenko, Timofey Nastyukhin (One Championship).

“I don’t think about finishing him; I never think about finishing opponents,” the recipient of performance bonuses in his last two fights said. “I’m ready every time for a hard fight, a long distance, and such a hard fight, not an easy fight. I stay ready for this every time. I never say, ‘Oh, it’s an easy fight, oh, I finish him.’ It’s never easy. It’s always hard work.”

Manel Kape

Former Rizin Bantamweight Champion is 0-2 with UFC. One more chance for Kape to impress the UFC or he’s gonna be CUT from the UFC. One of the biggest UFC signings in recent years, Being the Rizin Bantamweight Champion is an accomplishment that easily attracted the UFC to sign him.

Kape has all the talent in the world but he needs to have the same confidence he had fighting for RIZIN as one of there biggest stars. Kape isn’t getting dominated biggest problem with him is striking more, Not being afraid to let it GO.

“I love watching him fight, He’s a savage, He’s a beast he’s gonna be a problem I just hope that that he gets used to the cage.” Muhammad Lawal interview with Mike Swick

“Everybody say that they can stand with me but when they feel my hands they want to shoot some takedowns… I don’t believe that we are the same level. I need to respect his left hand. He has power in his left hand, he has shown already at featherweight. But I’ve been fighting with fighters who have a lot of power in hands and nobody never knocked me down. I’m really focused for this fight and I believe I will knock out him.”

Miles Johns

UFC prospect I’m high on fights in the Bantamweight division. Explosive Bantamweight tank built like Chad Mendes. Trains at the Texas Powerhouse Gym Fortis MMA owned by former NBA All-Star Deron Williams and ran by Sayif Saud.

Facing the experienced 21-8 Anderson dos Santos. Hopefully with a win with against dos Santos there’s a winning streak and a rising year for Miles Johns. Rewarded with a bonus tonight definitely deserves the 50k’s.

Johnny Munoz Jr

Former King of the Cage Bantamweight Champion “lost” to Nate Maness in his UFC debut. I disagreed with the decision really believe Munoz Jr won the fight, Shocked by the decision but tonight we can see FIRST UFC win.

He sees plenty of advantages for himself in this fight and is envisioning a big finish to get himself in the win column.

Traveling down to Tijuana, Mexico to train with UFC FLYWEIGHT CHAMPION Brendan Moreno.

“I’ve been going traveling a lot to Tijuana down in Mexico it’s about an hour and a half from from where I’m at so I’ve been training a lot with Brandon Moreno I was actually part of his fight camp which was real cool being able to see him succeed and accomplish.” Johnny Munoz Jr

“It’s going to be a great fight and I’m looking to showcase what Johnny Munoz is all about.” Johnny Munoz Jr

Dan Ige vs Sodiq Yusuff UFC 249 brooklyn

Dan Ige defeated Mirsad Bektic on the UFC 247 Main Card. Dominating Bektic in the striking game. Best opportunity for Ige to showcase his talents. Super Sodiq Yusuff beat Andre Fili at UFC 246 Prelims, My opinion was the stand out fighter for UFC 246 showing his potential as a future champion. Dan Ige vs Sodiq Yusuff UFC 249 Fight!!

January 18, 2020; Las Vegas, Nevada, USA; Sodiq Yusuff moves in with a hit against Andre Fili during UFC 246 at T-Mobile Arena. Mandatory Credit: Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Both fighters fought the full three rounds but wasn’t a lot damage considering they fought three rounds. Sean Shelby and Mick Maynard schedule this bout for UFC 249. Definitely a fight that fans want to see.

Ige beating former #1 2014 MMA Prospect Mirsad Bektic showed the world who Dan Ige is and deserves tougher opponents. Yusuff 11-1 record 4-0 with the UFC is the perfect opponent for Dan Ige.

Sodiq Yusuff #14th ranked UFC Featherweight while Dan Ige is close to being a top 15 UFC Featherweight.

Impressive win for Soqiq Yusuff defeating Dan Ige will raise his stock, More fans will acknowledge Yusuff as a POTENTIAL UFC Featherweight Champion. Win for Dan Ige shows the world he’s a future Featherweight Champion who has been under looked but not anymore.

UFC 249 Dan Ige vs Sodiq Yusuff definitely a fight I want to see.

Kevin Lee Fighter to watch #15 2020 UFC Lightweight Champion

Kevin Lee, UFC 216 was fighting Tony “El Cucuy” Ferguson for the Interim Lightweight Title in 2017. Lee lost to Ferguson but bounced back against Edson Barboza. Two fight LOSING streak would happen, Struggling. Trouble deciding if he stay at Lightweight or move up to Welterweight. Coaching change was needed and Lee is now coached by Firas Zihabi. Firas will coach Lee to being a UFC Lightweight Champion in 2020.

Kevin Lee & Firas Zihabi Early Success

Kevin Lee return to Lightweight was a smart decision, Lightweight return was against Gregor Gillespie(Lightweight no fighter wants to face) . Lee looked phenomenal Head Kick KO in the first round that awarded Lee a performance of the night bonus.

All thanks to MMA personality, Joe Rogan for setting up the coach & fighter partnership with Firas and Kevin Lee.

Kevin Lee Career in 2020

Kevin Lee and Islam Makhachev is the next fight for Lee, Islam is the next Khabib, He’s from Dagestan and is a grappling save like Khabib. Lee vs Islam is rumored for UFC 249 in Brooklyn. UFC 249 Khabib vs Ferguson. Lee vs Islam most likely will be a main card fight that will entertain the fans quickly!!

Be a fascinating fight to watch. Win over Makhachev will propell Lee’s Lightweight rankings.

Lee options after a “Win” over Makhachev is fighting the winner of Felder vs Hooker, Intersting fight with title contender Dustin Poirier or Justin Gaethje. All these matchups would be interesting to watch.

Kevin Lee is two or three fights away of a Lightweight title shot and with Lee’s potential and being coached by Firas Zihabi, George St Pierre. Lee can fight for the Lightweight title by the end of 2020.

Ben Askren trash talk YouTube

Finally the arrival of Ben Askren, I can’t wait for Askren to fight Robbie Lawler. All because of Joe Rogan, Askren is in the UFC. Askren without a doubt, Askren is one of the best wrestlers in the UFC and will dominate his opponents. The welterweight division is in trouble because of Askren. I believe Ben will be a star soon, Ben has the marketing checklist to make him a star. Another star in the making is Zabit Magomedsharipov who will be a future UFC featherweight champion. Zabit is facing Jeremy Stephens. A test for Zabit which will be a fascinating to watch. Lastly Johnny Walked a light heavyweight future star whose fighting Misha Cirkunov. Walker gives some new blood to the light heavyweight division.

Zabit Magomedsharipov Joe Rogan

Zabit fight

Johnny walker knockout

I’m so excited for UFC 235, Counting down the days till it arrives. A lot of fights to watch and the debut of Ben Askren. Lastly if you watch UFC 235 don’t illegally stream it, Pay 65 dollars because your basically stealing money from Jon Jones, Anthony Smith, Woodley and Usman… But that’s for another blog.
