Mikhail Odintsov 28 year old 18-2 Lightweight is the top prospect from Belarus and one of the best Lightweight prospects from Eastern Europe won the RCC: Road to the PFL Tournament. Added to the PFL Lightweight stable, Looking to win the 1 million dollar prize in the next season of the Professional Fighters League.
Odintsov definitely capable of winning the PFL Lightweight Tournament because of his grappling prowess as in both RCC: Road to the PFL Tournament fights, Dominating his opponents with his wrestling.
Wrestling is the key to MMA, Can control the fight beginning to end. Kept on putting the pressure against some tough Russian/Eastern Europe Lightweight prospects.
Latest win was defeating Timur Nagibin, 15-4 record Top Ten Russian Lightweight prospect. Watched Mikhail’s hands speed throughout the rounds. Cardio wasn’t an issue as he’s a beast.
Mikhail Odintsov has the right talent but not the right gym… If I was manager I’d have him travel to top MMA Gyms like American Top Team, American Kickboxing Academy, Sanford MMA, Roufusport Academy, Tristar Gym, Renzo Gracie, Nick Catone MMA. Similar training philosophy like Khabib and Zabit.
Reason why is because he needs to work on his boxing, If he was fighting higher level Lightweights, He’d have some problems. Have above average striking and he can become a PFL Lightweight Champion. Belarus can be proud of one of their own.
