Bellator 255 Prospects to Watch

Bellator 255 Tonight Headliner is Patricio Pitbull vs Emmanuel Sanchez Featherweight Grand Prix Semi-Final Fight. Bellator 255 is STACKED no lie top to bottom. Extremely excited for this card and Bellator’s upcoming cards.

Prospects to watch on this card that are potential Title Contenders, Top five fighters in there division for Bellator. Core fighters for Bellator in the future.

Tyrell Fortune

One of the young bloods for the Bellator Heavyweight Division, Fortune facing Jack May as Matt Matrione withdrew from the fight. Perfect fight for Fortune to fight a UFC Vet like Mitroine. However he can dominate Jack May the top Heavyweight prospect from the Northeast. May and Fortune fought each other back at Bellator 245 but no contest because of accidental low blow.

Leading to trash talking lately by Fortune and May on Instagram.

“If someone starts disrespecting you, you feel motivated to put them in their place,” Fortune said. “That’s really all it is. I’m not a disrespectful person. I’m not going to message somebody and talk sh*t to them just because I want to fight them, especially if I was already in the cage with them. I think it’s just a dumb ploy on his part.”

“I was like, ‘Put Jack May up in here because this p*ssy wants to keep talking. He wants to fight me, obviously,’” Fortune said. “He already had his opportunity and he quit, so let’s give him another one.”

Fortune can now put a stamp on May’s name with a dominant performance with grappling as he was an All-American wrestler at Grand Canyon University. Mixing that with training at Sanford MMA with a bunch of killers from Gilbert Burns, Michael Chandler, Vicente Luque, Rumble Johnson and many more killers can lead to a significant year for Fortune.

Bellator has a lot of hype on the 30 year old Heavyweight. Defeat May to start off 2021 the right way leading to fighting tougher Heavyweight opponents. Rematch with Timothy Johnson doesn’t hurt or a fight against Matt Mitrione.

Usman Nurmagomedov

Usman Nurmagomedov, Lineage of the Nurmagomedov family. Khabib’s cousin, Similar body style but a different fighting style. Usman focuses on kickboxing. Trains at American Kickboxing Academy with Khabib, Islam Makhachev, Luke Rockhold, Ed Ruth and many upcoming prospects.

Javier Mendez compares Usman Nurmagomedov to Luke Rockhold, Claiming Usman is going to be a Bellator superstar!!

Bellator debut is on the Main Card, Facing Mike Hamel. Hamel split decision loss against Adam Borics. Hamel is a tough dude but will see a dominant impressive performance. Showing he’s one of the next great Nurmagomedov’s.

“I have my debut, I have my opponent and after that we will see,” Nurmagomedov said. “Of course I would like to be a champion and I would like to be a champion in every organization I fight in.”

“He’s 10-0, all finishes. He’s an absolute killer. He’s a Muay Thai specialist and he’s Khabib’s brother, you understand? If you have the same blood as Khabib, you have good wrestling. I’m telling you, he is actually a better version than Khabib. He is better than Khabib. I’m telling you, people should watch for him. He’s an absolute killer. He’s got it all. He’s got the striking, he’s got the grappling, he’s got the jiu-jitsu, he’s got the look, he’s got the swagger.” Ali Abdelaziz Khabib’s Manager

Magomed Magomedov

Magomed Magomedov ONLY fighter to defeat Petr Yan, Former ACB Bantamweight Champion. All-Around Talent easily one of the best Bantamweights in the world. 17-1 record, Dominated Mattheus Mattos in his Bellator debut. Second fight against Cee Jay Hamilton, Top Ten Bantamweight prospect with a 15-7 record. Talented fighter but Hamilton has his hands full against a world class Russian savage.

Ranked #5 Bellator Bantamweight but should be ranked #2 or #3 Bantamweight but with a few more wins we can see his ranking increase.

“I didn’t show my full skill set in that fight but this time I’m very prepared I don’t have any injuries I feel very great and I’m looking for a finish and I will guarantee you this fight will be very entertaining for the fans. “

Definitely looking forward to Magomedov’s second appearance, Going to be a great one!!

Chris Gonzalez

Team Alpha Male product 5-0 impressed me a lot fighting Vladimir Tokov in a great prelim fight that went back & forth. Now Chris Gonzalez facing Roger Huerta once was the next big thing, Cover of Sports Illustrated but gradually went down hill. However still fighting 24-12 record faced off Eddie Alvarez, Benson Henderson, Gray Maynard.

See if Gonzalez has what it takes to defeat the MMA veteran Roger Huerta.

“At the end of the day it’s all about getting your hand raised. I’m always going to happy with myself for getting the job done, whether it’s a highlight finish or a tough fight.”

“I’m always working on things that I need to improve on and keep the white belt mentality, but the game plan is always the same: go in there and create pressure, hit him more than he hits me, end up on top, ground and pound him and get him out of there or do that for 15 minutes straight.”
